Pascal De Decker


Pascal De Decker is  professor in the master program in urbanism and spatial planning at the Department of Architecture, KU Leuven. He studied sociology (UBent, 1981) and urban and regional planning (UGent, 1985) and obtained a Ph.D in Political and Social Sciences at Antwerp University (2004). Professionally he has switched between academic research at different universities (UGent, KU Leuven, Antwerp University) and policy making (Cabinet of the housing minister 1995-1999; city of Ghent). Pascal De Decker was a longstanding (co)editor of professional and academic journals (Planologisch Nieuws, Ruimte&Planning, Ruimte&Maatschappij, Ruimtelijke Planning, Journal of Housing and the Built Environment). His research interest concern the sociological and spatial dimensions of housing, urban planning and demographic developments.
