Elise Schillebeeckx


Elise Schillebeeckx holds a Master degree in Urban Sociology (University of Antwerp, 2008) and an M.Sc. degree in Urban Management (Erasmus University of Rotterdam, 2009). In 2019, she finished her PhD on arrival neighbourhoods for migrants in Flanders in which she focused on localized resources for the arrival and transition process of migrants.  She was the research coordinator for the Innoviris Anticipate project ‘B-REL’ (Residential Environments and Life Perspectives in Brussels) and currently works as a post-doctoral researcher on various projects on superdiversity in small towns and on the related tensions between the established and the outsiders in the urban periphery of Brussels.
